Hey percussionists. Actually I've already prepared an SYF message for you people, long time ago. However, I have doubt if there's time for me to read it to you on Saturday. Therefore, I publish it for all of you to see. Later on that day, I'll just give a summary of it =) Jiayou everbody....let's go, let's do this!!! Singapore Youth Festival Display Band Competition 2008 12th April 2008 Hey people, today is the day that we have all been waiting for. Today is the competition day. During the past five months or so, we have been training very hard to achieve what we want. We also went trough many hardships and quarrels as a section together. However, lets leave the past in the past. We have practised for five months just to perform a perfect eight-minute show. That eight minutes will decide whether we can get a gold with honours medal or a certificate of participation. What ever the results are, we must do our best and muster every single effort out of ourselves. I know we can do it. I know we can put our best performance up front. I know that we can achieve that award. Do you know how I know that? I know that because throughout the six months we trained, we have improved bit by bit and strengthened our bond. I can see in each and everyone’s eyes the desire to do the best. I believe in you and what is more important is that, you believe in yourself up to this day that you can do it. I hope that today we will give our best during the performance. I hope that we will give the best show ever. I hope that we will show Tanjong Katong, Deyi and Bowen band what we are made of. Prove to them, prove to the world that Bukit Panjang Military Band is the best and will always be the best. You know what, right now, it does not matter what award we get. As long as we are in this together, I believe that we will achieve it. And guess what, the greatest award that is priceless and even worth it is for me to perform with you, as a section, as a band. To Lai Cheng, Wei En, Christine, Shi Yuan, Eunice, Yu Lian, Xie Xin, Xiao Ling, Hui Yi, Aisyah, Ting Hui, Sandy, Jessie, Jin Mei, Geok Min and Mandy and to all the Auxiliary Percussion – I wish you all the best and good luck, thank you Mr Kumar – let’s do this!
